WONDER WOMAN SCORES A HUGE BEST PICTURE NOMINATION

(via ign.com) The Producers Guild of America announced the nominees for the 29th annual Producers Guild Awards, and Wonder Woman is among the 11 live-action films up for The Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures.

The remaining 10 nominees include The Big Sick, Call Me By Your Name, Dunkirk, Get Out, I, Tonya, Lady Bird, Molly’s Game, The Post, The Shape Of Water, and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

With the Oscar race now in full swing, this is a huge deal for the DC movie, as the Producers Guild of America serves as one of the major indicators of which movies might earn Best Picture nominations for the Academy Awards. While Wonder Woman didn’t receive any Golden Globe nominations, the Patty Jenkins-directed superhero film was among IGN’s 2017 Movie of the Year nominees.

Meanwhile, the PGA’s nominees for The Award for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures include The Boss Baby, Coco, Despicable Me 3, Ferdinand, and The LEGO Batman Movie.

All 2018 Producers Guild Awards winners will be announced on January 20.
