 CHLOE JAMES

Movies,  TV, and Animation Blogger

chloenicepic

Ever since she was old enough to become self aware, Chloë has never quite lived in reality.  It wasn’t that the real world had been particularly terrible to her.  Yet, all of the various ways of escaping into her imagination, the real world seemed dull in comparison.  Given her imagination’s unquenchable thirst,  movies, games, books, music, and theatre have always been an integral part of her life.  Chloë took it step further in high school by becoming a full fledged theater and show choir nerd, eventually leading to a BA in Arts in Performance at UTD.  While her ultimate goal is to create new “worlds” of the imagination to inspire future generations,  Chloë still delights in what inspired her.  Star Wars, The Legend of Zelda, the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, and the films of Walt Disney and Hayao Miyazaki are just a few examples of her favorite distractions.  Currently, she resides in Frisco, Texas with her awesome chinchilla, Mog, as well as

CHAD WOMACK

Movies and Gaming Blogger – Special Contributor

From a VERY early age he embraced all forms of nerd-dom. Born in 1969…when men landed on the moon, he gravitated towards all things geeky as soon as he started reading at the age of 3. His literature of choice??? Spider-Man of course!!! Instantly developing an interest in sharks, dinosaurs, classic monster movies, Saturday morning cartoons and comic books. He rode the crest of the geek culture tsunami when both he and it were in its earliest stages. Jumping onboard the video game craze the moment it landed in his local mall in Mesquite Texas, acquiring the earliest cartridge-based home video game console the Fairchild Channel F. Then a few years later…something truly magical happened…. May 25th 1977…and the Northpark 1 & 2 General Cinema truly earned the title of God’s Private Screening Room as Star Wars came screaming into his life like a Corellian Freighter dropping out of lightspeed. It impacted his life so deeply that he and his wife Shannon, a lovely and talented geek in her own right, married on Intergalactic Star Wars Day on May 4th. As geek culture evolved, Chad has been obsessed with not just experiencing it but sharing his thoughts and views on it with whoever would listen. Beginning with The Clubhouse Podcast, a local home-grown media platform he co-created, quickly joining the local media mainstream. Acting not only as an outlet for critiquing the latest films and touring live stage shows, he also covered local media events like the Dallas VideoFest, Dallas International Film Festival, Asian Film Festival of Dallas, and the High School Musical Awards. He is happy and thrilled to join the ranks of That Nerd Show covering not just tv shows and movies but his lifelong hobby of gaming as well, bringing a much-loved part of his life into sharper focus, joining the Gaming Squad crew to share in their passion of a hobby that is hard coded into their DNA.

Chad didn’t choose the nerd life..the nerd life chose him!!!
