The Nutjob 2 Review By Allison Costa

Having 6 children I see a lot of kids movies.  I mean a lot.  Not all are stand-outs, and most I have to simply find my happy place and get through them.  But then there are those that, while they are not stellar works of art, are still made enjoyable enough for both children and adults alike to enjoy.  NutJob 2 is one of these.

We enjoyed the original NutJob as a family a few years back.  Basically it is the plot of a devious squirrel who may have a checkered past as a thief but who is trying to be a good guy, or good squirrel as the cast would have it.  He does one last job to help save the “nuts” that are being stolen, so that the animals can all have food for the winter.

In NutJob 2 we pick up with a similar theme–basically loss of food, means loss of life for these little critters.  Now instead of an unknown thief, there is a man who wants to build an amusement park in place of the park where these animals live.  This sequel offers some fun and clever new characters to round out the cast and has plenty of funny moments for adults and children alike to enjoy.  There are a lot of clever one-liners, and some clean adult humor sprinkled in for the parents, as well as outrageous and quirky moments for the kids.

You could wait for the rental, but it was a fun movie-going experience for our family and definitely worth a glance on the big screen!  So grab that popcorn and candy, settle back with your munchkins and enjoy an hour and a half of silly laughter–why not?  They are only young once.
