After 16 years for the sequel to the iconic cult classic to be born, Broken Lizard stated they are working on a third installment in a much quicker fashion.
The Broken Lizard troupe told CinemaBlend they have been working on ideas.
“We’re looking to get the third one going,” Kevin Heffernan said. “And hopefully it won’t take as long as it did to get the second one going.”
“That’s right. We’re writing,” Jay Chandrasekhar added.
The group joked that they don’t want to be in their 70’s when they make the next film. “We gotta get on it,” Heffernan said.
Super Troopers 2 was announced and crowdfunded back in 2015 after securing $2 million in its first 24 hours. Through its Indiegogo campaign, the film garnered over $4.4 million in funding. It released on April 20, 2018, with its obvious 4/20 release date being a nod to the Super Troopers family.
