Another Year at All-Con by Marcus Blake

All- Con has come and gone again. It was another great year with fellow nerds celebrating our passions. There was a ton of great costumes and not just from the local 501^st Legion, Mandalorian Mercs, and Rebel Alliance for they always look good. We saw a lot more Kylo Renn’s and Rey’s from The Force Awakens reminding us that we have new Star Wars movies coming out and we are in another golden age for Star Wars.

This year’s big names for All-Con for Paul Blake who played Greedo and Gigi Edgley from Farscape and it was great to talk with them and hears their stories from the set of some our favorites Sci-Fi movies and TV shows. We absolutely enjoy All-Con because it’s a fan’s convention and it give us a chance to a panel and share our insights with fans. This year we did a panel on 50 Years of Star Trek and let’s just say the opinions really do vary on who is the best Captain and the Best Series in the franchise.

The only complaint we really had about this year’s All-Con is the new location. It’s hard dealing with a hotel that has never done a convention before. Their performance was pretty bad and can only get better. But ,the All-Con Staff did their best to make everything great and they definitely deserve our gratitude and applause for their efforts. And, even though we had terrible dealings with the hotel Stall, the Klingon Blood Wine certainly helped make things smoother on Saturday…yes, you can find that All-Con too. Hopefully, the Dallas Westin Hotel will get their act together and be more accommodating with the convention next year. But, all in all, we enjoyed another year of ALL-CON, the true fans convention where you will definitely have fun and meet new friends and everybody is welcome not matter their true passions…even the Furies. That’s what makes a great convention.
