Survival horror game Dark Deception is being adapted into a feature film by writers Adrian Speckert and Cory Todd Hughes of U.S. indie outfit So It Goes Entertainment.

Created by Vincent Livings and released by Glowstick Entertainment, Dark Deception blends arcade-style gameplay and psychological horror. Players must navigate nightmarish mazes where monsters lurk at every turn. According to So It Goes, the game has shifted 6.5 million units and has a player count of 58M worldwide.

Casting and production details are still in discussions on the development project.

So It Goes is currently an exec producer on Wolf Creek: Legacy, the latest instalment in the popular Australian horror franchise, which is slated to shoot in 2026. The company is also developing The Murder Book, a TV adaptation of Lissa Marie Redmond’s crime novels, with Heroes creator Tim Kring attached to executive-produce.

“Our production company has a rich love of horror and the horror genre,” said Speckert and Hughes in a joint statement. “We’re enjoying the creative process on producing Wolf Creek: Legacy with the incredible team we have there, and we’d love to replicate that experience with Dark Deception. It’s an incredible, endless list of amazing characters and lore, and we can’t wait to extrapolate from all of that and bring a terrifyingly fun and faithful adaptation to the screen.”

Speckert and Hughes are represented by IAG, Anvil Entertainment, and Miloknay Weiner.
