Benjamin Bratt has been cast in key recurring roles in two series – Dan Fogelman’s upcoming NFL drama The Land at Hulu, and in Season 2 of Prime Video’s Ballard.
Created and written by Fogelman, The Land is set inside the world of the NFL and has a generational family component to it.
Cast also includes William H. Macy, Mandy Moore, Chace Crawford, Chloe Bennet, Sam Corlett, Tanner Zagarino and Bridget Moynahan.
The series, from 20th Television and Skydance Sports, is executive produced by Fogelman, Jess Rosenthal and Kevin Falls. Also executive producing are David Ellison, Jesse Sisgold and Jason T. Reed for Skydance Sports.
Based on Michael Connelly’s best-selling novels. Ballard follows LAPD Detective Renée Ballard (Maggie Q), where she began on the night shift at the Hollywood station before transitioning to the department’s Cold Case Unit, where she continues to fight to earn respect in the ranks.
Bratt will portray Ryan Ainsley, a former DEA Agent who traded taking down hardened drug dealers for a simpler life as a cowboy tending to his Idaho ranch.
Titus Welliver, Courtney Taylor, Michael Mosley, Rebecca Field, Victoria Moroles, Amy Hill and John Carroll Lynch also star.
The second season of Ballard will be executive produced by Michael Connelly, Michael Alaimo, Kendall Sherwood, Henrik Bastin, Jasmine Russ, and Trish Hofmann. Theresa Snider serves as co-executive producer for Hieronymus Pictures.
Bratt will next be seen in Peter Farrelly and Amazon MGM Studios’ action-comedy Balls Up alongside Mark Wahlberg, Paul Walter Hauser, and Molly Shannon
Most recently, Bratt can be seen in season two of Disney+’s Andor, as well as in Edward Burns’ film Millers in Marriage, Netflix’s Mother of the Bride and Apple TV’s Loot with Maya Rudolph.
