The BBC has announced that Frost will make a return to television as a guest star in this year’s Doctor Who Christmas Special. “I’m such a fan of the show,” said Frost. “The read-through was very difficult for me; I wanted to keep stuffing my fingers into my ears and scream ‘No spoilers!’ Every day on set I’ve had to silence my internal fan boy squeals!”

Frost is joined by Natalie Gumede, Faye Marsay, Nathan McMullen, and Michael Troughton, whose father played the second incarnation of the Doctor.

This Christmas special marks Peter Capaldi‘s first holiday episode as the Doctor. Although production has begun, there are no details on the special’s story yet
